As a place of arbitration, Austria has been playing a special role in disputes involving parties from Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries for a long time. Austrian businesses have a disproportionately high rate of investment in Eastern Europe resulting in the fact that Austrian arbitration practitioners often play an important part in disputes in the region. The CEE region is the main geographical focus area for Konrad & Justich
and, since its establishment, the firm has placed a particular focus on promoting arbitration as an effective and efficient way of dispute resolution in the region. Philipp Peters, Counsel in Konrad & Justich’s International Arbitration Practice Group, has been invited to give a speech on arbitration on the occasion of the first Conference on International Trade, Education and Marketing (CITEM), held in Ceské Budejovice this week. He will provide an overview of the process of arbitration and focus on those aspects that are widely considered to be the decisive factors for businesses to opt for this method of dispute resolution in his speech on 9 December 2010.
The conference programme can be found on the CITEM Website.
